NOW IS THE TIME FOR YOU TO JOIN OR RENEW YOUR MEMBERSHIP IN YOUR LOCAL COUNCIL AND THE ARIZONA READING ASSOCIATION. Please return the form at the bottom of the page. Your membership will extend until 7/2009. Please consider membership in ARA. Your membership includes state and local membership. You will receive information on all state events and you will enjoy the professional journal published by the Arizona Reading Association.
Our mission is to promote literacy and to assist educators in their literacy endeavors. The Arizona Reading Association and the local councils sponsor workshops, classes and author visits throughout the year. Arizona Reading Council membership includes students, classroom teachers, librarians, reading teachers, special education teachers, principals, and administrators.
The Arizona Reading Association has 14 local councils. The Colorado River Reading Council serves Yuma and La Paz Counties. Cochise Reading Council serves the Douglas area. Central Arizona Reading Council serves Pinal County. Gila Reading Council serves Gila county. Greater Paradise Valley Reading Council serves Paradise Valley School District. Huachuca Area Reading Council serves the area around Sierra Vista. Mohave Reading Council serves Mohave County. Northern Arizona Reading Council serves Coconino County. Ocotillo East Valley Reading Council serves Chandler, Kyrene, Tempe Elementary, Tempe Union High, Gilbert, Roosevelt, Mesa, Apache Junction, Queen Creek and Higley School Districts. TheRoadrunner Reading Council serves theScottsdale and Fountain Hills areas and the Scottsdale School District. Phoenix West Reading Council serves Phoenix and the area west of Phoenix. Tucson Area Reading Council serves Pima and Santa Cruz counties. White Mountain Reading Council serves Apache and Navaho counties. Yavapai Reading Council serves Yavapai County
